i just noticed a 20% drop in usage of the site in last hour

after some digging it seems that DYNDNS who we pay to provide DNS services for us are under attack > http://status.dyn-inc.com/dyndns/

will keep an eye on this disturbing development

they have been very reliable for many years now, this is first time seen anything like this

updated file expiry times

The file expiry table have been updated

see http://ifile.it/faqs

How long are my files kept?
* Guest users, 7 days after last download
*Free registered users:
** 90 days after last download for files below 100MB
** 30 days after last download for files above 100MB
** 14 days after last download for files above 200MB

* Note the above limits are not strictly enforced and in reality sometimes takes longer if there's no need and plenty of storage available at times.
* Also the above are set so to encourage people to avail of free accounts, and to upload smaller more manageable files.

Hopefully this would provide more reasons to upload smaller split files and register for free accounts

Cheers
