After an extended codding and testing session file statistics are back and this time are correct :)
Due to a bug discussed here http://blog.ifile.it/2008/07/file-download-stats-frozen-temporarily.html the "bandwdith used" field was incorrect 99% of the time and just shoved 0bytes before, this was due to a bug :(
Anyways had fix the bug and rebuld file stats
The file stats are based on logs from 25th July onward, we dumped the logs from before as the data was incorrect
So to summarise the stats are back and are now counting from the 25th of July
Now onto fixing user download stats :)
EDIT: user stats (green text at the bottom of the file browse page) are back now too, and will be updated much more often (every 10 mins)

file download stats frozen temporarily
I have frozen download stat generation for files in users accounts (displayed in a file's properties box, accessible by clicking on a file and selecting properties )
Have found a bug where the bandwidth used by the file was incorrectly logged with 99% off the time it being 0 ( ooooops :) ), but the number of downlaods was correct
Working now on fixing this issue, coming up with more efficient algorithm to parse logs, and will hopefully rebuild the stats by this time tommorow

download process
The download process has been changed (simplified)
We had loads of people commenting that the old way was confusing so now the "Request Download Ticket" + "Downloads" are right bang in the very center of the page as big shiny silver buttons :)
Theres a new video tutorial (just in case its not obvious enough :) @ http://ifile.it/dl )
I understand that most users would ideally love to have the downloads start directly with no clicking or page loads, but unfortunatelly the server bills dont pay themselves, this free service exists thanks to our advertisers (who beside our users they are one of the main stakeholders )
Anyways more updates to come.

yay 250,000 users!
Today ifile.it has passed the 250,000 registered (and activated) users
Just want to say thanks to everyone :) its been an interesting 5 months since the launch
I will try to have more of these threads as for last month the blog was pretty much used for boring maintenance notices :p
Some other stats include 150,000 unique daily visitors to both ifile.it and mihd.net with ifile.it usage increasing to above 2/3rds while users switch slowly from mihd.net
Once again thanks to all!

main servers maintenance
Hello
There will be short maintenance works on the main database / web servers for ifile.it and mihd.net to enable the continuing growth of both sites. During this time no new uploads/downloads be allowed so to prevent any issues and the sites redirected to this blog to notify users to try later.
As such theres no need to disable the sites but to be on the safe side I will switch of the database so to prevent any corruption. Any downloads already started will continue as normal as the file servers are on separate clusters.
This maintenance is important as it will involve the upgrade of hardware and the network
I will keep this thread updated with a timeline
Apologies for inconvenience
